Use ClassDo in Webinars
Want to use ClassDo in mass online seminars? You can have the panellists join a virtual room in ClassDo, then screen share the seminar on Facebook with Facebook Live. After the panellists have joined the room and are ready to start the session, follow the steps below to stream it on Facebook.

Best practices (checklist)
Facilitators
Preparing for the event
- Ask panelists/moderators for a copy of their slides. Upload the slides ahead of time onto the virtual room
- Create a instant private communication channel among panelists/moderators. A whatsapp group is a good solution. During the event, you can use it for communications in case of any issues (internet disconnections... etc), to give them explicit instructions on what to do next.
- Design moderator fallback - if a moderator loses internet connection, are you going to be the fallback moderator, or you will summon a fallback moderator immediately?
- Invite the moderator/panelists/fallback moderator/fallback panelists into the room for 10 min testing. Orientate them with (i) changing slides and view modes (ii) how to mute/unmute themselves. You need to test both ClassDo, and a fallback mechanism (Google Meet, MSTeams..etc) with them. Protip : If you are creating instructions for panelists, less is more. Don't overwhelm them with lots of instructions, or they won't read any of it. Boil it down to 4 points maximum.
- Test the FB/Youtube/Vimeo Livestream with the uploaded slides (or some dummy slides you upload). Make sure you WATCH and LISTEN to the livestream itself, to determine if everyone's video/audio is OK. If you are testing individually with different panelists, try to test livestream with at least one of them.
- Have a fallback for your wifi connection. Being ready to tether your computer to your 4G mobile is very useful.
For the event itself
- Always try to have EXACTLY the same setup as the test. Use the same computer, same wifi network, same mic, same webcam as the test.
- Enter the room early, and start streaming 15 mins ahead of time to give yourself buffer for device problems. In FB/Youtube/Vimeo/etc, there are usually settings that will allow the public to view it only after a certain time. Make sure you WATCH and LISTEN to the livestream console itself, to determine if the video/audio is OK. If audio is OK, the mic level indicator should move.
- Have your moderator and panelists come in early too. If the livestream is set to be public at a later time, the audience won't see the moderator/panelists streaming in to test their room.
- If the facilitator and moderator is a different person, optionally mute your own video and audio as facilitator. You'll have to judge whether it's OK for the audience to see you.
- As each speaker speaks, you may want to enlarge their screen to focus on their faces for the livestream audience. Instructions are here : https://help.classdo.com/article/203-conduct-video-chat#5
- Be prepared to mute noisy backgrounds of panelists during the session (work out with the moderator whose job this is)
- If a panelist disconnects, it's your job to help troubleshoot, and bring them back into the room as fast as possible. Worst case scenario that they lost internet totally, get them to voice call you on whatsapp, put them on speakerphone, and stream the audio into the room. If the moderator disconnects, you'll either have to stand in as moderator, or you will
- Watch the FB/Youtube/Vimeo livestream comments. Collate the best ones, and whatsapp it to the moderator.
